Questions and answers
Everything parents ask us about delivery, choosing a ride-on, batteries, safety and returns.
Delivery
How much is delivery?
Delivery is free to any address in the Republic of Ireland. The price you see is the price you pay.
How long does delivery take?
Usually 5 to 7 working days from the day you order. In busy weeks, like the run-up to Christmas, it can take a few days longer. If you need it by a certain date, email us before you order.
Where do you deliver?
We deliver to the Republic of Ireland only. We do not deliver to Northern Ireland, the UK or other countries at the moment.
Where is my ride-on sent from?
Your ride-on is packed in our supplier’s warehouse in the EU (Poland) and sent to your door by courier.
Will I get a tracking number?
Yes. We email you the courier’s tracking number when your order is on its way.
How big is the box?
Ride-ons come in large boxes, often 15 to 40 kg. Please make sure someone can take the parcel in. If the box is badly damaged, take a photo before you open it.
Choosing a ride-on
Which ride-on is right for my child’s age?
Every product page shows the age, the maximum weight and the top speed. As a simple guide: 6V ride-ons are for the smallest drivers, 12V suits most children aged 3 to 6, and 24V is for older kids or two children together.
What is the difference between 6V, 12V and 24V?
It is the battery size. A bigger battery gives more power and speed. 6V is small and slow (about 3 to 5 km/h). 12V has more power for grass and gravel (about 3 to 7 km/h). 24V is the strongest, up to 23 km/h on some motorbikes.
What does the parent remote do?
On models with a remote, an adult can steer and stop the ride-on. It is great for younger children who are still learning. Look for “remote” in the name or in the key features.
What are soft tyres?
Soft tyres are made of rubber-like foam (EVA). They are quieter and grip better than hard plastic wheels, especially on paths and patios.
Can two children ride together?
Yes, on our 2-seater models. Check “Seats” and “Max. load” in the specifications on the product page.
Can I see the ride-on before I buy?
We are an online shop only, so there is no showroom. Each product page has several photos and full specifications. If you have a question, send us a message and we will help.
Assembly and battery
Does it come built?
Most ride-ons need simple assembly, for example the wheels, seat and steering wheel. Instructions are in the box.
How long does the battery take to charge?
Usually 8 to 12 hours. Charge the battery fully before the first ride, and do not leave it flat for a long time.
Can it be used in the rain?
Most ride-ons are not made for rain or puddles. Keep it dry and store it indoors or under cover when not in use.
Ordering and payment
How do I pay?
You pay by card on our secure checkout. Payments are handled by Stripe, so we never see your full card details.
Are there any extra charges?
No. Delivery is free and there are no extra fees at checkout. The price you see is the price you pay.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Email info@kiddo.ie as soon as possible with your order number. If your order has not been sent yet, we can change or cancel it. After delivery you can still cancel within 14 days.
Safety
Does my child need an adult nearby?
Yes. An adult must always supervise. Use the ride-on only on flat, safe ground, away from roads, water, slopes and steps.
Should my child wear a helmet?
We recommend a helmet, especially on motorbikes, quads and go-karts.
Returns and faults
Can I return a ride-on?
Yes. You can cancel within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. You pay the cost of sending it back, which can be around 40 to 80 euro for a big box. We refund you within 14 days of getting it back. Read the returns policy.
What if it arrives damaged?
Email info@kiddo.ie within 48 hours with your order number and photos. We will arrange a replacement, repair or refund, and we cover the return cost.
What if something stops working later?
Please contact us and tell us what happened. Your legal rights under Irish and EU consumer law are not affected.
